I have never met a more salacious, enigmatic personality than Mr. Erik Danielsson of Watain. Between the two of us, we each represented (fairly) polar ends of the Metal and ideology prism. With mutual respect and unrepentant speech on the table, we engaged in fearless exploration. From that, I was able to enjoy a rewarding and breathless writing experience.
I also somehow got the scoop on what would later be called the infamous “Vomit Show” in Brooklyn, New York that year. This was my first piece with Maximum Metal. It was also my first syndication.
There are very few artists I would drop what I am doing to talk with. He is second the to the top on that very short list.
